After the digging, the cement began to flow.  A concrete pumping truck came and essentially took up the entire street.  We were not home during this operation, but we were told that there were a number of cement trucks all lined up on the street waiting their turn to become part of our new foundation and walls.
Below is a picture of the north side of our house from the patio door.  They left some of the dirt to backfill around the outside edge of the walls of the crawl space for the new great room and also to spread over the inside bottom of the new crawl space.  You might wonder why the walls are so high and the answer is to get the future floor to be the same height as the existing floor.

To the right is a picture out of our front door.  You can see the basement wall along the side of the garage.  The wall is really thick as it had to go underneath the garage's foundation.  The builder had left some jacks that were placed under the old foundation and are now part of the wall.
The next picture looks towards the south fence.  From here, you can see two parallel walls.  The new wrap around porch will be the width of these walls and sit on top of them.  Underneath, there will be an L shaped cold storage room.
This is a picture from Smith's driveway.  Today, they came and sprayed the foundation with waterproofing and cut a hole through our old basement wall that will connect the new basement addition to the family room.  We are hoping that they will come on Tuesday and back fill around the outside of the foundation and Wednesday they will pore the basement floor.
